How to Manage and Interact with Comments in Notion

Notion is a powerful productivity tool that enables seamless collaboration and communication within your team. One of its key features is the ability to add comments to pages, facilitating discussions and feedback across your Workspace. Adding Comments

To add a comment in Notion, navigate to the page where you want to leave feedback. In the upper right-hand corner of the page, click on the speech bubble icon to open the comments sidebar.

Within the sidebar, you can view existing comments and add your own by typing in the comment box at the bottom. When ready, press Enter to post your comment. You can also attach files or images by clicking the paperclip icon. Notion now supports drag-and-drop for attachments, making it even more efficient to include visuals in your conversations.

Interacting with Comments

Notion offers several updated features to help you stay organized and engaged as discussions evolve:

1. Resolving and Deleting Comments  

• When a comment has been addressed, hover over it and click the three-dot menu icon. Select Resolve to mark it as resolved. Resolved comments will be hidden from the main view but can still be accessed via the Resolved tab in the comments sidebar.  
• To remove a comment entirely, choose the Delete option from the same menu. Remember, once a comment is deleted, it cannot be recovered.

1. Mentioning Users  

• Involve specific team members by typing @ followed by their name. Notion will automatically suggest users as you type. Once selected, the mentioned user receives a notification and can quickly navigate back to the conversation.

1. Editing and Replying to Comments  

• If you need to update a comment or correct any typos, hover over the comment, click the three-dot menu, and select Edit. After making changes, press Enter to save updates.  
• Notion supports threaded replies to keep discussions organized. To reply to a comment, click the reply icon located below it. This creates a dedicated thread for focused conversations without overwhelming the main comment section.

• As your Workspace grows, managing numerous comments can be challenging. The updated comments sidebar now includes advanced filtering and sorting options. Use the search bar to locate specific comments by keyword or author.  
• To adjust the display order, click the Sort button at the top right of the sidebar. You can sort comments by creation date or by author, ensuring you stay on top of relevant conversations.
