How to Move a Notion Page to a Different Account

Sometimes, you may need to transfer a Notion page from one account to another—whether for collaboration or because you're switching accounts. This article will guide you through the updated steps to move a Notion page to a different account using current Notion features and best practices.

Before you begin, note that transferring a Notion page requires access to both the source and target accounts. If the target account isn’t accessible to you, contact the owner or administrator to gain the necessary permissions.

Follow these steps to successfully move a Notion page to a different account:

Step 1: Duplicate the Page

  1. Open the Notion page you want to move.
  2. Click the three-dot menu at the top-right corner of the page.
  3. Select Duplicate from the dropdown menu.
  4. A duplicate of the page will be created within the same account.

Step 2: Share the Page with the Target Account

  1. Open the duplicated page.
  2. Click the Share button at the top-right corner.
  3. In the sharing settings, enter the email address associated with the target Notion account.
  4. Choose the desired access level (e.g., can edit, can comment, or can view).
  5. Click Send. The target account will receive an invitation.

Step 3: Accept the Invitation in the Target Account

  1. Open the email sent to the target account’s owner.
  2. Click the invitation link in the email.
  3. Log in to the target Notion account if prompted.
  4. Accept the invitation. The shared page now appears in the target account.

Step 4: Move the Page to the Desired Location in the Target Account

  1. In the target account, locate the shared page.
  2. Choose the desired Workspace or folder where you want the page.
  3. Click and drag the page into the new location.

That’s it! You have successfully moved a Notion page to a different account. The page is now accessible and editable in the target account, enabling seamless collaboration or individual work.

Additional Tips:

  • Permissions: Only the page's content and structure are transferred. Individual permissions set on blocks within the page are not carried over. Adjust permissions in the target account if necessary.
  • Synchronization: Updates made to the original page after transferring will not reflect automatically in the new copy. To keep both pages synchronized, manually update the transferred page in the target account as needed.
  • Alternative Methods: With evolving features in Notion, you might also explore options such as exporting and importing pages if you prefer to work with backup files or need an offline version.

Moving a Notion page to a different account is a simple process that enhances collaboration and makes managing your information smoother. By following these updated steps, you can ensure your valuable Notion pages are efficiently transferred with minimal effort.
