How to Remove a Team Space within the Notion application?

Notion is a powerful collaborative tool that allows teams to manage and organize their projects, tasks, and knowledge in one place. One of the features of Notion is the ability to create team spaces, which are shared workspaces where team members can collaborate and contribute to various projects.

However, there may be instances where you no longer need a team space and want to remove it from your Notion application. Whether you have completed a project, transitioned to a different platform, or simply want to declutter your Workspace, deleting a team space in Notion is a straightforward process. In this article, we will guide you step-by-step on how to remove a team space within the Notion application.

Step 1: Access the Settings Menu

To delete a team space in Notion, you must have administrative privileges for that space. Start by opening the Notion application and navigating to the team space you wish to remove. Once you are in the desired team space, locate the Settings menu. You can find this menu by clicking on the team name in the upper-left corner of the screen.

Step 2: Open the Team Settings

After accessing the Settings menu, a drop-down list will appear. Select the Settings & Members option from this list. This action will open the team settings page, where you can manage various aspects of your team space.

Step 3: Navigate to the Members & Guests Section

On the team settings page, scroll down until you find the Members & Guests section. This section allows you to manage team members, roles, and access permissions within the team space. Locate the Members & Guests heading and click on it to expand the section.

Step 4: Remove Members from the Team Space

Before you can remove the team space, ensure that all members have been removed or transferred to other spaces. If there are members still active in the team space, you will need to either remove or reassign them to a different team or Workspace.

To remove members from the team space, find the name of the member you wish to remove and hover over their profile picture. An ellipsis (three dots) icon will appear. Click on this icon to reveal a drop-down menu, and then select the Remove from [team name] option. Confirm the removal when prompted.

Repeat this process for each member until all team members have been removed.

Step 5: Delete the Team Space

Once all team members have been removed from the team space, it is time to delete the space itself. To do this, go back to the Settings menu and select the Settings & Members option once again. On the team settings page, scroll down to the bottom until you find the Danger Zone section.

Within the Danger Zone section, you will see the option to Delete this space. Click on this option and confirm your decision when prompted. Notion will ask you to enter the name of the team space as a final confirmation measure. Type the name of the team space and click on the Delete button to permanently remove the team space from your Notion application.

Please note that deleting a team space is an irreversible action. Once you delete a team space, all its pages, content, and associated data will be deleted as well. There is no way to restore a deleted team space, so make sure to double-check your decision before proceeding.

Congratulations! You have successfully removed a team space within the Notion application. By following these steps, you can keep your Notion Workspace organized and tidy by removing unnecessary or completed projects.
