How to Remove a Team Space within the Notion Application

Notion is a powerful collaborative tool that allows teams to manage and organize projects, tasks, and knowledge all in one place. One of its key features is the ability to create team spaces—shared workspaces where team members can collaborate on projects. However, there may come a time when you no longer need a particular team space. Whether you have completed a project, transitioned to another platform, or simply want to declutter your Workspace, removing the team space is a straightforward process. This article will guide you step-by-step through the updated process based on current Notion features and best practices.

Step 1: Access the Settings Menu

Before you begin, ensure that you have administrative privileges for the team space you wish to remove. Open the Notion application and navigate to the team space in question. Once there, locate the Settings menu by clicking on the team name in the upper-left corner of the screen.

Step 2: Open the Team Settings

After clicking on Settings, a drop-down menu appears. Select the Settings & Members option. This will open the team settings page where you can manage various aspects of your team space, including member permissions and workspace options.

Step 3: Navigate to the Members & Guests Section

Scroll down within the team settings page until you find the Members & Guests section. This area allows you to manage team members and adjust access permissions. Click on the Members & Guests header to expand the section.

Step 4: Remove Members from the Team Space

Before you can delete the team space, remove or reassign all team members. If members are still part of the team space, you must remove or transfer them to another team or Workspace.

  • To remove a member, hover over their profile picture. When the ellipsis (three dots) icon appears, click it to display a drop-down menu.
  • Select Remove from [team name].
  • Confirm the removal when prompted.

Repeat this process for each member until everyone has been removed from the team space.

Step 5: Delete the Team Space

After ensuring there are no active members, you can proceed to delete the team space:

  • Return to the Settings menu and choose Settings & Members once more.
  • Scroll down to find the Danger Zone section.
  • Within the Danger Zone, click on the Delete this space option.
  • Confirm your decision by entering the team space name when prompted, then click the Delete button.

Please note that deleting a team space is irreversible. All pages, content, and associated data within the space will be permanently removed from Notion.

Congratulations! You have successfully removed a team space from your Notion application. By following these steps, you can maintain an organized and efficient Workspace by eliminating unnecessary or completed projects.
